Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I get to talk to people from all aspects of the business, I am responsible for the things I do daily and I input in my team meetings. Currently in my role I do not talk to many people externally but I know that other apprentices do talk to external customers and suppliers. I have my tasks that I do daily and there are some problems that come up that I try resolve and become responsible for.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoy the programme. I started in September 2024 so I felt very supported when I started and was encouraged to develop both personally and work wise.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Since starting I have noticed that my people skills have really developed and I am more confident speaking in big meetings. Due to the role I do currently, I have become much more confident with different Microsoft systems and have really developed my understanding of how to use the different functions.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

All 4.5 years of the programme are well structured and I know each milestone that I will hit as I move up the years.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

GE are a fantastic employer, whenever I have had an issue there have been clear guidelines who I should go to with my problem. It is clear that GE Aerospace care for our well being and take our physical and mental health seriously.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I currently have not starter with the university yet, as a first year apprentice I am doing a year learning the business before starting my qualification.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I haven't started my qualification yet but I have heard from other apprentices that it does benefit them and they are able to see different resolutions to issues that they may face.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

All apprentices take part in apprentice socials (in work and outside of work). There are also many teams and activities such as yoga, football, rugby that happen after work and everyone is welcome to join in and come along. During lunch there are some networking events that happen so it is a good opportunity to get to know other employees that you may never speak to.

Would you recommend GE Aerospace to a friend?
Yes
Why?
All employees are super nice and helpful. I have never had an issue with other employees or any of my managers. I have always felt supported and listened to and look forward to coming to work.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to GE Aerospace?
Do some research into GE Aerospace to ensure that you agree with our fundamentals and our principles. I think the most important thing to remember is make sure we fit for you, not the other way round!
