Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I work in a production support lab. This involves synthesis of polymer to solve issues faced by the production site or to introduce new raw materials.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I Enjoy the program. The degree I find challenges me but is still enjoyable. The job role has challenges also but i feel like im constantly learning and growing.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I've learnt many skills such as good lab practice, management of change, challenging assumptions. I have also developed existing teamwork and time keeping skills.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive plenty of support both from colleagues and support staff. I feel comfortable to reach out for help if i need it.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I receive a lot of support from the training provider. I receive quick and helpful responses from all staff involved in my course including lecturers and support staff. I feel supported both in my personal and student life.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I think the course ties in well to some aspects of my job role. Helping supply an understanding of the chemistry i conduct in the workplace has been helpful for me as well as the degree helping me to understand regulations.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Networking events and educational outreach events are often offered and i take part in many of those. I am a member of an employee resource group also, these are available for anyone to join. Groups such as women in Solenis, Andys mans club and equality diversity and inclusion.

The company offer many benefits such as the private health cover, bonus scheme and pension program. The People here and the environment is so welcoming and they foster you to grow.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Solenis?
Be yourself and show your confidence in you application and the interview process. They are not just looking for people to fit the job but for enthusiastic people to fit into their teams and help the team to grow.
