To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I have found some modules of the programme challenging as they were new areas for me and I felt completely out of my comfort zone. That being said, it has accelerated my learning as I was stretched and challenged but I was given the support by Arden and Merseyside Police to work through the Academic and apprenticeship elements.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have developed in all the KSBs listed within the standard. Those worthy of note are;
K8: Financial strategies, for example scenarios, modelling and identifying trends, application of economic theory to decision-making, and how to evaluate financial and non- financial information such as the implications of sustainable approaches
K9: Financial governance and legal requirements, and procurement strategies.
S12: Oversee procurement, supply chain management and contracts.
B1: Work collaboratively enabling empowerment and delegation.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
Appropriate modules in a logical order. The blend of face to face and eLearning has allowed me the flexibility I needed to work through the programme.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I am given the required off the job learning hours. I am also afforded opportunities to move around the force and take on work outside of my remit to develop KSBs. My manager is supportive and understanding of the additional challenges of the Level 7 apprenticeship.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
Arden University have given me an excellent coach who is personable, responsive and knowledgeable. He is always quick to respond to any queries and helps you progress at the appropriate rate towards portfolio completion.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
It has opened my eyes to areas my role doesn't necessarily cover, e.g. marketing communications, but this learning has been applied within the role. I have a greater self awareness and am clearer in the areas I need to develop. My academic reading has helped me have a deeper understanding of some of the challenges I face within role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
I am a member of the sports and social group, this gives me access to the gyms in the organisation. it also gives me access to a plethora of sports teams. There are cross organisation groups that I have signed up for, one example is being involved in a Coaching initiative between Merseyside Fire and Rescue, North West Ambulance Service and Merseyside Police.
