Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
Operate as a member of People Services SLT, specifying and sharing Learning and Development related data and analytics to enable managers and the people services team to ensure that the Force uses evidence to create a culture of decisions based on cost effectiveness, transparency and fairness through evidence.
Ensuring that all the members of the Assessment and Qualification Team are led and supported to perform in role and deliver to their
potential (4 direct reports, 4 second line reports, 19 third line reports overseeing assessments, quality assurance and evaluation of the training provision across the academy.
Set the strategic direction of training quality assurance in force
Involved in contract creation between HEI and Merpol and involved in maintaining the ongoing collaboration.
Developing and managing the roll out of Teaching and Learning initiatives across the academy.
Holds Leaning and Development manager accountable for compliance and quality of Academy Training.
Oversees the PDU who have learning development responsibility for all learners post initial training in force (currently 778 students, majority being post initial training).
Monitor the work of the assessment team and ensure that they work to the highest possible standards when reviewing learner capability; ensure that assessor feedback accurately and consistently describes and rates the learner’s capability in line with agreed internal and/or external standards. Developing and implementing effective assessment techniques for the future.

K8: Financial strategies, for example scenarios, modelling and identifying trends, application of economic theory to decision-making, and how to evaluate financial and non- financial information such as the implications of sustainable approaches
