Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My job role is a Clerical Officer for Merseyside Police. The department I work in is The Safer Roads Unit in Rose Hill which is Merseyside Police’s headquarters. Within the Safer Roads Unit, I work in the admin team and deal with the sending and processing of notices for traffic offences and email and telephone correspondence from members of the public.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy the apprenticeship program and the department that I work in. I find the work interesting and the skills I have learnt are valuable. I like the organisation I work for and am proud to work for the police.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt how to use different police systems required for my role. I have developed my written and verbal communication skills through email and telephone correspondence with the public. The phones calls in particular have helped build my confidence and decision making skills.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

My program is well organise and structured I routinely attend college session every fortnight alongside my work in the workplace. I understand the end point assessments and what is required of me.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive regular support with my employer and have regular one to on meetings with my line manager to track my progress.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I receive support from my training provider each time I attend college session and receive help when needed. I also have regular meetings with my training provider and line manager in the work place to track progress.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

My qualification has helped develop my knowledge of the organisation which has given me a greater understanding of my job role and how it impacts the wider organisation.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
