Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role consists of creating timetables for initial classes, inviting and dealing with queries from guest speakers - internal and external. I coordinate crime courses and manage attendance records as well as updating student officer records.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy it as I get sufficient time to work on my apprenticeship alongside my other work so it never becomes overbearing. Its something I am happy to be working on to get a qualification.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Definitely helped me to build my communication skills, I am now much more confident when speaking in person and on the phone.

The programme is split into modules so it is easy to understand what section your learning about and what you are going to do next.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My employer offers days where I can work from home to work on my apprenticeship as and when I need to.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Riverside College offer support on their regular wellbeing sessions and we can go to college to work on our apprenticeship if we need extra time.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Helped me gain more of an understanding of internal and external stakeholders which is crucial in my role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes they have sports teams and groups to join if its relevant to you. i.e carers support group or menopause groups.

I would advice on reading up on our Force strategy and reading up on the website about the different career paths on offer as anyone can join.
