Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
My day to day varies between driving wheel loading shovel on asphalt plant or dry stock yard, batching asphalt, operating weighbridge.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I enjoyed the programme, it was very insightful and covered all bases. Furthermore, I got to meet lots of new people within the industry who work on different sites to mine; such as Dry stone mortar (DSM) and quarrying. Gave me an understanding of what they do and how they operate

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
New skills I have learnt are operating different types of machinery, I currently can drive a WLS and mini digger, next month I’ll be doing my telehandler license which will make me more skilled for different situations

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
Very well structured, received emails well in advance about dates and times to be there so could never miss anything.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I personally received plenty of support, I was given more than enough time to get my coursework done alongside with my E learning. Plenty of people around site helped me answer questions throughout my workbooks
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I received plenty of help throughout it all, they always answered questions if you had any and if they didn’t know they find someone who did.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
It gave me a great understanding of what is in the product and the different properties of each one. Learnt to drive the loading shovel which opened up more
Options for me and has allowed me to go spend a few weeks up in a quarry and experience that.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
As of right now I’m not 100% sure there is much but I haven’t asked the questions. As a team we often meet up and have a few drinks together and socialise as a group outside of work which definitely helps with the camaraderie of the team.
