Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
Very flexible, fun, dynamic work. Barely any meetings right now which means I can focus on what I enjoy and great people around me.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I can't complain about anything in regards to work, 1 hour commute each way but 100% worth it. University can be a bit lacking sometimes, and lectures can be boring/feel like they're not providing value compared to what you're doing at work, but the work-side of the apprenticeship more than compensates.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Learnt so much more technical capability than I thought I would, and I overall has greatly improved interpersonal skills. Especially coming straight from sixth form, I have been able to develop these skills way faster than people I know who are at university full time.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
Again, work-side is spot on. Everything is always very well structured at work—only thing I will say is that comms from uni can be quite delayed and can often be quite frustrating
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
A lot, I was very surprised
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
Quarterly review meetings with skills coach to review progress are good, and during the university labs the lecturers are always quick to offer help
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
Not much I've learnt 90% through work, but university has occasionally filled some useful knowledge gaps
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Lots of very nice dinners and social events with managers and other engineers, also on the university side we can join any of the societies that we'd like to join, so lots of flexibility there.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Bloomberg to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Based on what I've heard from my friends who do degree apprenticeships at Morgan Stanley, JPM, Goldman, Deutsche, Rolls Royce and JLR, Bloomberg seems to be the most well organised. fair and professional in terms of the work you do, hours, guidance/support. Generally thought to be a very nice place to work, and I strongly agree
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Bloomberg?
The best thing you can do is show them you care.
