Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I work as a software engineer in Amazon's AI department. I support scientists that are developing our AI models. I work on the tools they are using to develop these models.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
I enjoy it a lot, mainly on the work side. The education side is a bit stressful with lots of big assignments and the teaching quality is a bit hit and miss.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learnt a massive range of new skills. Mainly in software engineering in production software solutions are created.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
It is structure well and organised well.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
A lot. Amazon is generous with the time we can have away from work to focus on our studies and there is lots of support from our managers and mentors and also a huge apprenticeship community where we can reach out for support.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
I receive adequate support. There are lots of different ways I can reach out for support from academic issues to issues related to my modules. But the support from some tutors is not at the same quality as others.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I think it helps a good amount. There is not a massive focus on software engineering skills in the programme but there is a massive focus on developing software solutions and business proposals and plans for software solutions.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes there are loads! We have a massive range of events from casual networking events to sports teams. There are so many I can not list them all.
