Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role in business support and communications is very varied. From supporting external and internal communications to admin tasks for health and safety and the senior leadership team. I work in a team of people supporting the processes on site. I also ensure we have strong relationships with stakeholders.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

My apprenticeship has been fantastic. I first started as a business admin apprentice but now I am a pr & comms apprentice. It has been a great experience and I love working!
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt many skills such as time keeping and coordination, strong communication, team working and management. I have really developed my resilience skills as well as my ability to be a better listener.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

My workplace has made sure the programme fits my workload, and projects. However the organistion from my training provider has not been successful.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My line manager and mentor have been a huge support in my apprenticeship. They have supported me in educational and emotional ways and made sure I am always okay.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Unfortunately I have not had the best support from my training provider leading up to EPA. It has been a very confusing time with changes to the standard and for this reason I have to score low.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I feel like my qualification has hugely explained why my role is so important for the business. I now have theory that sits behind my experience and day to day role
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes many. I have joined and lead employee resource groups for young people and women. I have taken part in many professional networking events which have opened my relationships.

Why?
Solenis has been fantastic during both my apprenticeships. The employees are fantastic and supportive, and it really is a place that pushes you to grow.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Solenis?
Be yourself, be kind and honest! Everyone is great and you can really be yourself. Always share your ideas as the company values new ideas
