Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
My role is Business Administration for the HR Department. It involves creating Excel spreadsheets, scanning documents, answering emails from employees and dealing with private and confidential information.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I thoroughly enjoy my programme. When i first started my apprenticeship i was based on Sellafield and was generally doing typical admin work, then i got moved to Whitehaven to support the HR department. I prefer being based at Whitehaven with this job role as there are more opportunities to progress in the future and i am local.
I also enjoy Lakes College, I have been a 'student' there since 2023 so i am familiar with it and my tutor is extremely helpful.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
My time management and organisational skills have progressed since starting this role. Additionally, I have never really used Excel before until now so my skills and knowledge have developed significantly in this too.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
My programme is very structured/organised. When i first started my team, Rebecca and Demi, made a development plan for me so they can go through everything that i need to know and tick things off as we go along.
Lakes College is also very organised because my tutor, [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the Higherin Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions], will send me regular emails asking how I'm getting on and send feedback from my assignments quickly. He sets deadlines for tasks to ensure I am ahead of target.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
[This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the Higherin Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] give me support in the workplace by helping me with tasks i am unsure of and asking how I'm doing frequently.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
[This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the Higherin Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] from College gives me loads of support when working towards my qualifications. Previously we were in college from 9am - 10:30 am every Friday but he has meetings at that time now so he arranges a Teams meeting with us all individually to discuss current tasks and give us feedback. We upload our assignments to 'City and Guilds' and he will always write a detailed paragraph within the same day with feedback.
Currently I am way ahead of target and ready for my end point assessment. I am due to complete that in November but I am targeted to finish in June.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
My qualification helps me perform better in my role because I have more knowledge and it helps me be more professional.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
The Shepley Group often go for food and drinks on a weekend of afterwork, which I think is great because it enables positive working relationships. We (HR Department) have talked about going for food and drinks when [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the Higherin Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] gets back from maternity.
Also The Shepley Group have Christmas parties every year.
