Preparation of Management Accounts, Year End Accounts, CT Comps. Review of VAT returns, CIS returns, Management Accounts and bookkeeping work.

A good extent as I feel it pushes me to always improve.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Yes. Since I have started I have learnt how to be a good mentor when coaching/training other members of staff in the team as well as learning how to communicate effectively to meet job deadlines and plan ahead. I have also my accounts knowledge and when certain accounting principles/rules will apply in different situations.

A lot, I haven't had a any issues with anything and know that I can speak to them if I have any issues of my own are worried about something.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

A lot. My training provider is always there to answer any queries I have no matter how difficult or the volume of queries.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

A lot as it forces you to think outside the box and keep on top of things. A lot of the content learnt in the qualification is relevant to work and can be applied.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes. I am part of a group called SFBL. Sheffield Future Business Leaders where we organise various different networking events throughout the year.

Because BHP give all the support you need. They won't leave you out in the dark.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BHP?
Make sure you have the right attitude and commitment if you are applying for a training contract like myself.
