Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I contribute to different projects involving sprint work, project work and stability work, which involves collaborating with peers within my team and also from other teams. Being a Software Engineer is about maintaining stability in the code first, with emphasis on testing, and then performance and innovation.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
The programme is not easy as you have to balance work with university, but with the right mindset and determination, the programme helps accelerate your career by teaching you everything you need to know, so that is the enjoyable part.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have been able to greatly to develop my technological abilities as a Software Engineer, learning best practices, how to throughly test newly implemented code and also how to effectively work with people.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
The work side structure just depends on what needs to be done. University is structured into semesters that make sense, so the structure is good
How much support do you receive from your employer?
3/5
The employer is able to help you learn a lot, which helps to stay ahead of University content, which helps make the uni side easier. However, uni work can take up a lot of time and eat into your free time, which makes being a full time employee sound easier
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
The training provider give assignments that help challenge us to develop our tech abilities. They provide in depth responses for our assessments which help us reflect on our work and how we can improve.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
The assessments challenge you and cover some topics you may not do at work so they can be tricky but help to develop you
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
There are plenty of volunteering opportunities and other things like sports activities.
