In my role, I programme and machine metallic components on 3 and 5 axis CNC machines.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

The apprenticeship of far has been an enjoyable experience, allowing me to meet new people and gain new skills.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt how to model in CAD, create CAM programs, and operate 3 and 5 axis CNC machines. I was also able to develop my manual turning and milling skills, while completing my apprenticeship.

How well organised/structured is your programme?

The apprenticeship programme is well structured and fairly organised, making it easy to navigate and allows you to easily understand the skills that are being gained year on year.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I have received great support from my employer, when needed and I have always felt comfortable to ask for any support when needed.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

During my apprenticeship the college has been good at providing information about topics to help with subjects, as well as making you feel comfortable to ask for support when needed.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The qualification allowed me to gain a general understanding of engineering, which was then helpful in the areas related to my job.

There are a variety of activates that you can take part in, as well as early careers/apprentice socials which allow you to meet up with others in the early careers team.
