Assisting in the construction of containment for electrical systems along with the installation of various electrical devices.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

While I wouldn't say the experience if perfect I have overall enjoyed the experience.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learned many new skills ranging from the simple to the complicated including how to use various tools (both manual and electric), how to measure and plan out the construction of containment, how to wire and terminate electrical devices.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

There is a structure that is mostly followed however the limitations of the industry and business needs can prevent the structure being implemented to its fully intended extent.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Due to personal changes within the college support for both my NVQ and in class education has been inconsistent over the past three years however those have been mostly addressed.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

It can in my experience provide information that gives my a greater understanding of the reasons for what I'm and doing and what good looks like.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are events such as development days, apprentice connection meetings and apprentice representative meetings. Also there is an opportunity to participate in charity events.

Why?
I believe the infrastructure and commitment to the apprenticeship program gives the apprentice a lot of support and better opportunities than those who work for other firms.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to NG Bailey?
Be self driven, utilise the support network provided to get the most out of your apprenticeship.
