Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I am an apprentice Civil Engineer, I am in Transportation and work on drainage for HS2. I work with gangs on site to set out the drainage they need to install.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I really enjoy the programme, I love where I work and everyone I have met on the way, I also find the block week aspect of uni a very useful way of learning too.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learnt a lot of new skills, from equipment I use on site, to basic things such as communication and verbal skills. I am always improving but working the apprenticeship has helped me with this massively.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
The programme is pretty well organised now, the start up was a bit slow and there was a bit of difficulty for the first few weeks but once I got on track everything ran/runs smoothly.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I get a lot of support, when I need to balance my work/study life, my employer is very understanding and lets me take time off to study if I need to.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I receive a lot of support in terms of working towards my qualification.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
The qualification (or working towards it) helps give me all the technical knowledge which I can then apply on site, and they work hand in hand together.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
I have been to a few networking events and apprentice-based events in the company which have always been good to meet new people.
