Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
My role is to assist the fitter with driver queries on faults and helping to repair damage to vehicles and keep them on the road.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I very much enjoy my programme so far, I have learnt lots of new skills and I now have a much better work life balance than before I started it.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learnt many new skills like how to inspect a vehicle for road worthiness, general repairs like light bulbs and how to maintain the equipment on the back of the vehicles.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
The organisation I work for is very well organised, I have been working hard with my employer and have now gained a level 1 certificate.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive great support from my employer, they provide me with meal allowances at college and provide overnight accommodation as its a fair distance from my house.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I receive great support from my training provider, my teacher is great at delivering in the classroom and I really enjoy being in the college workshop where he shows us all the vehicle's they have, I also have another person come out and see me in my workplace from college too.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
My level 1 qualification helps me have a basic understanding of how HGVs work and this helps me when I need to describe something to the fitter and helps me with general repairs.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
At kier there is plenty to get involved in, anyone can take paid days of for volunteering, we have had a great team building evening dinner and you can learn new skills online through kier to help progress your career at any time.
