Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
My day-to-day changes throughout the project, I am learning new things while expanding my knowledge of previous skills I have been taught. I am currently site based so spend a lot of time on the project I am working on.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I really enjoy the programme, it allows me to get a degree while in full time work. This helps me use what I learn in university in a practical setting.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learned many skills, including how to use a total station, how to create forms and how to use track monitoring on the rail

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
It is well structured, I spend 1 week a month in university allowing me to spend the rest of my time in work. While at university I stay in a hotel allowing me to travel to and from the university with ease.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I get a lot of support, I am normally with the site agent or site engineer so on a daily basis they are showing me new things. If I need help with anything I have never had any trouble with asking.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I receive a lot of support from my employer, we set up meetings where I can discuss how my work/university balance is and how I am finding everything.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
I feel as though I does help but as I work in a specialised sector of civil engineering (rail) I feel like the degree doesn’t apply to me as much as if I was doing structures or water.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Kier have a multiple extra-curricular activities such as football, they also have different inclusivity groups you can join such as the armed forces group.
