I work with the senior engineer and independently to assist the operations team with surveying, quality assurance, creating documents.

I have learnt the basics of being a site engineer and i have gained advanced skills on how to use a total station independently and efficiently.

The programme/company is very structured and there are people in place to cover every role so there is always someone to speak to if im ever struggling

How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive lots of support and there are many safety nets in place in case i make a mistake to ensure i correct it and to ultimately help me succeed at the company.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I receive lot's of support when undergoing my qualifications, the company asks you constantly what you need to help you succeed at uni and they even offer visits to other departments/work sites to ensure you get as much task-specific exposure as possible.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I think working and learning simultaneously is very effective for you to ultimately get the best grade and deliver the best job as you are learning through both scenarios.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are so many networking events/schemes throughout Kier that you can get involved in. There is also the occasional meet up after work for a bit of team bonding to deliver a good job.
