In my role I supervise staff and operations on site. Ensure automated production lines are work efficiently and quality kept to a high standard.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I struggled with my dyslexia which worried me but with the help with everyone on the programme and the people at the Tarmac Safety Park it put me at ease and enjoy the course

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

At the start of the programme I was an operative but during the course I have been promoted to a chargehand on site. This has helped with my confidence in my new role

How well organised/structured is your programme?

It was very organised, hotels booked, transport booked, each visit was a different subject to cover.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I got a lot help due to my dyslexia and during the English I got the help that was needed to be able to pass
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

A lot help, monthly check in calls to see how my progress was and was very supportive if I required extra help
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I thought I understood my role but with the programme I understood in more detail which helps me from different aspects of producing products, environmentally, quality and H&S
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are some within the business but I don't usually attend those. The team on site occasionally go out for meals and attend sport events together

Why?
Been in this industry for over 30 years and thought I knew it all but times have changed and this course gives you a better insight on what happens in my workplace which helps others
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Tarmac?
If you struggle with your confidence like I have done, don't panic! I thought I would find it difficult with my dyslexia but the team and people in the course will help throughout the programme
