Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role involves designing both minor works and schemes to improve the existing Local Authority highway network. The work is quite varied and involves liaising with clients, subcontractors and internal construction and commercial disciplines.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoy the content of my degree and the process of gaining knowledge and industry experience simultaneously. It is challenging to juggle the demands, but well worthwhile.

I think better communication between the training provider and employers would be helpful in improving the organisation and structure of training to ensure that objectives and areas of learning can be harmonised where possible.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My employer is very supportive in terms of providing study leave when required to revise for exams and prepare coursework, I also receive very good mentorship in writing reports for my professional qualification.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Generally, the training provider supplies adequate online resources as well as contact time and most lecturers are helpful if you ask queries both face to face and by email.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Having a broad understanding of various areas of Civil Engineering, being such a vast industry, is very helpful in making you a well-rounded engineer.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
