Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

On a daily basis, I contribute to my team's project by adding new features and modifying existing code, primarily using C++ and ARM assembly. I participate in meetings, including one-on-ones, stand-ups, and sprint-related sessions. Each week, I allocate a full day for university lectures and assignment work, and I can dedicate additional time to university assignments when needed.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy being an Apprentice at Arm because I have the opportunity to work on solving challenging problems and contribute to projects that are at the forefront of technology.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have developed my programming skills in C++. Through the projects I have worked on I have also developed skills and knowledge in the following areas: Computer Architecture, Graphical Processing Units and Machine Learning.

How well organised/structured is your programme?

I have found the programme to be well structured and organised, and since I have joined the programme has been continuously improving.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

Arm does a great job in providing Apprentices with a wide range of people who they can go to for support. As an Apprentice I have been assigned a mentor from day one and my mentor has helped me develop my technical skills and provided me with valuable insights.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Each Apprentice has been assigned an academic coach and I have found mine to be very responsive and helpful with any queries that I have. I also find the review meetings that we have to be a useful way for me to gauge my progress and how I can improve with regards to the academic side of the programme.
I think the university could, however, do more to support Apprentices with both the skills and theory needed for some assignments.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The Digital and Technology Solutions Degree is very broad. One positive of this is that it provides me with a perspective into skills and disciplines that I would not encounter and learn within my role. However, one downside of this is that the modules that are relevant to my role do not reach the required depth needed to help me perform better in my role.
