Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
To help prepare us for client projects, we are brought on to an internal project which me and the other apprentice from the same intake run together. This project is ran using the Agile methodology, so we follow the usual Agile ceremonies such as daily stand up, backlog grooming and sprint-review. Aside from meetings, the majority of my time is spent developing new features for this internal project.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
My programme is enjoyable and most lessons are interesting and we learn new things. The tutor we received is also very friendly with a good sense of humour which makes lessons more enjoyable and interactive.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Since joining CACI I have learnt loads of new skills in the software engineering field, I am now a lot more confident in working within a team. I am also a lot more familiar with good software engineering practices and how to produce better quality code.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
The programme started off very well structured, however now due to a lecturer change over and issues with the exam board, there are a few problems and uncertainty of what exactly is happening still.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
It is very clear at CACI that you are supported, we were provided with experienced engineers on our internal project to help us with any issues and to ensure it runs smoothly. I also know who to contact about nearly any issue that could occur, and everyone is very friendly and eager to help.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
The training provider has been good, the previous lecturer was very supportive and would point out areas to improve.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
The qualification I am working towards is definitely one that will benefit me in my job role, sometimes we would learn things in college and then be able to apply that just a couple of weeks later in our project.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
A brilliant thing about working at CACI is the events, they hold multiple a year and are always good time and a great chance to socialise with co-workers from all over the country. They really help to build a good working environment.
