Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I am currently training to become an A license engineer in order to work on aircraft. To achieve this I have been attending ICAT where I spend my time in classrooms studying for my CAA A License exams and working on my hand skills and understanding of procedures within the hangar/workshop.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I have found the programme to be very enjoyable as a whole. the content has been very interesting and my colleagues and lecturers I work with have all been extremely pleasant.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Having carried out similar jobs to some of those existing in the workshop I can say i have been developing a lot of my existing skills such as riveting, filing and drilling. I have also enjoyed learning the more industry specific skills like jacking and tressling aircraft, wire locking components and removing and installing propellers.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
The programme is very well structured. My managers, training provider and lecturers have good communication between each other and have a good understanding of where my colleagues an I are excelling and struggling. They have been very good at adapting our timetable to suit the current cohorts needs and accomodate other issues such as staff injuries that we were worried would affect our course.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I believe my employer has offered lots of support and they regularly check in with myself and my colleagues.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
My training provider has been extremely helpful in giving assistance and advice when I've needed it.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
Achieving this qualification is a crucial step in advancing my career as an engineer and I feel extremely lucky to have the opportunity to achieve this.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
I believe there are various networking events and opportunities available to us but in all honesty I've been so busy outside of my course I haven't properly checked.
