Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My day to day consists of driving to the meet point, driving to the job, sheeting up then preparing whatever your painting. After that painting the surface and putting wet paint signs up to prevent any bad reviews on the work you don’t. Drive back to the meet point then go home.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy working at bagnalls as the lads and the staff are easy to get along with and I would call some of them my good mates. I also think I am treated fairly while at work even though I’m an apprentice unlike many jobs. I enjoy working here
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt many skills while on my apprenticeship like the process of a job and what needs to be done to make a good job . Cleanliness is key to making a good job as your customer will appreciate it. Also I’ve developed my cutting in skills as I am now faster and better than I was previously
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

At bagnalls the structure is good as the contract manager explains everything to the foreman on a Monday and the foreman explains it to everyone on the job. The organisation has its ups and downs like everything but it’s more down to individual errors like not sorting out the paint prior to Monday
How much support do you receive from your employer?

Bagnalls are always there if you need them and people can speak to the yard staff as they don’t treat you any different to them. I feel like if you had any serious problems you’d be able to ask for help via bagnalls and they’d send you to the best help possible
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Don’t really get much help from college. The odd lesson theory wise but never any revision help or anything theory wise. But the practical help is really good all the teachers are very good at what they do but more help on the theory side would be appreciated d
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Teaches your the fundamental of painting at how to do it all the proper way as most painters bend the proper way to there own style but learning the actual way first is the key so you yourself can understand how everyone works so you can still work together r
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There aren’t any extra curricular activities at bagnalls. I wouldn’t do any anyway as I have a busy life balancing work and my girlfriend and football and golf so wouldn’t have time to do any extra curricular activities anyway. A a a a a as a a

Why?
There is Good money for apprentices and they are a family run business which means they have good morals towards employees. Everyone has ups n downs at work but I can definitely say I’ve had a lot more ups than downs while I have been doing my apprenticeship at bagnalls
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Bagnalls?
If I was to give any tips I would say to be honest while working there and treating people with respect and listen to what people say to you as they have been through what you’re going through . So everyone knows how you feel when you walk into the yard for first time
