Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role is Optical Assistant so I help people to book in eye tests and I help them to choose glasses and order them. I also do pre-screening on patients before they go in for eye tests.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy this programme very much, Learning new things and extending my knowledge on things I already knew.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Yes, I have expanded my knowledge on health conditions for the eyes such as Glaucoma and can pass this information on to our patients.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

I find that the structure of the programme is good, I like how we can see the presentation as we are on the teams call and I really like how we can all get involved with it.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I feel that sometimes I don't always receive the support I need, however my store has been going through some issues with bereavements and people off sick.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I am receiving loads of support, [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the Higherin Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] and I have found that my tutor is very supportive and is helping to achieve my goal.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I feel that because I know more from this course I can answer questions better that our patients may have.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
