Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I shadow other PM's in my team, join their calls, get involved in contacting other teams. I am in charge of making sure everyone in my team updates their epics in a system called azure devops. I have taken on my own project with the support of a pm form my team.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I got placed with an incredible team who i really get along with, they have definitely played a massive role in how much i have enjoyed the apprenticeship so far. The committee for apprentices and grads have also played their part, having socials and days where i can connect with people in the same situation makes all the difference.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

My communication skills have improved a lot, from starting in this role i have had to learn how to negotiate and be tactful in how i approach people. My communication has also developed as i have to join numerous teams calls each day which was a new experience. I am also now much more knowledgeable in how to use different tools and software.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

My manager has had apprentices before so had a plan in mind for me, i have milestones to reach and am given more responsibility when i feel comfortable with the workload. It is structured but also still personalised based on how you are doing. With the Uni side of my apprenticeship, that is very structured which is expected and makes it easy to know what is happening on a weekly basis.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive a lot of support from everyone in my team, they are all understanding that i am new and don't have a lot of knowledge about project management and what comes with the role. I have multiple weekly calls with my manager where we speak about my responsibilities and how i am feeling.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

our tutors are always ready to offer advice, and we get the chance to ask questions in each of our sessions every week about upcoming assignments or what we went through during the lecture.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Currently there is a lot of cross over with my job role and what i am learning at Uni as we are doing a course called professional project. We are will also be split up into our different streams for the next term so that we can focus on courses that are specific to our roles.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

We have an early careers committee that plan multiple socials each month for apprentices and graduates, recently a football tournament was held, and in the future there is a summer ball that will be happening where everyone can socialise together, and there are run clubs.

Would you recommend Vodafone to a friend?
Yes
Why?
It is a great environment to go into straight from work, you get offered a lot of support even by people you might not have spoken to before, in my experience they are quite relaxed so i've never felt stressed about messing up or making a mistake. And they offer really good pay for apprentices!
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Vodafone?
For your interview and the process before that, have scenarios ready on a piece of paper or in your head of when you worked as a team, when you've had to solve a problem and think of a question to ask them. Also, don't feel too stressed, even if an aspect of your application process doesn't go the way you planned it doesn't mean you've lost your chance - coming from experience.
