Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
An audit apprentice supports auditors in reviewing financial records to ensure accuracy and compliance. Daily tasks include checking invoices, analysing data, preparing reports, and assisting with client meetings. Apprentices learn auditing standards, use accounting software, and gain hands-on experience while studying towards professional qualifications under senior team guidance.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I am really enjoying the current programme, as it allows me to gain essential skills in the field while working towards a professional qualification. The hands-on style of learning is very effective, and studying for exams alongside practical work helps me apply useful knowledge in real situations, which greatly aids retention.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learned new skills such as client communication and technical abilities, including how to use Excel. I have also developed many of my existing skills, particularly in communication and teamwork.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
The structure of the programme could be improved, particularly regarding the scheduling of exams. Additionally, communication between BPP and the NAO could be more coordinated to ensure smoother organisation and support.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
The support at the National Audit Office is exceptional. Colleagues and managers are always approachable and willing to help, creating a positive and collaborative work environment. There are also plenty of resources and guidance available, which makes it easier to learn, grow, and feel confident throughout the apprenticeship journey.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
The support from BPP has generally been good, with helpful resources and guidance throughout the course. However, there have been occasional challenges with some tutors, as communication and clarity have not always been consistent. Improving this aspect would make the overall learning experience even more effective and supportive for students.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
The qualification I’m pursuing helps me understand the purpose behind the work I’m doing. It provides valuable context and theoretical knowledge that links directly to my day-to-day tasks, making my work more meaningful. This connection enhances my understanding and allows me to approach tasks with greater confidence and insight.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
yes i sometimes attend football on a Wednesday evening with members of the London office
