Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

i did 2 roles but was promised to be moved around more, i started off by doing the telephone exchange which was creating accounts and answering the switchboard

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Yes, I taught myself a few valuable skills such as python and how to utilise linux properly

I organised most of the learning myself but the learning from the tutors was important and useful

How much support do you receive from your employer?

i didnt really need any support from them, if there was a neutral i would pick that

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

i didnt ask for much if any but post apprenticeship i was not supported very well as they took 4 months to raise my salary despite expecting me to work 37.5 hrs a week

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Well it woudlve helped me perform better in my role if i was paid properly for my role for the first 4 months post apprenticeship but DXC is VERY slow with anything, i was also told to "stop messaging everyday" when i had been left on read for a week and sent 3 messages the next week asking for a response, instead of responding to my message my manager told another manager to tell my line manager to tell me, very efficient

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend DXC to a friend?

Why?

because everything they do (only when it benefits them) takes ages so they can get away with paying less until the worker threatens to leave or does leave, employee turnover is so high here, when an employee handed in his notice he was told to stop picking up tickets and basically just sit there because they wanted the team to "get used to working as a 4 person team"
