Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Assisting project managers on-site and overseeing specific M&E packages ensuring they meet quality standards, tight deadlines, are cost efficient, and meet the requirements set by the client. It is also my job role to ensure all operatives meet health and safety standards set by ourselves and the client.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I enjoyed the blocks of college as it broke up the year nicely and allowed me to focus more when finishing college modules. The team I was working with throughout my apprenticeship are some of the nicest guys I've met which makes work that much more enjoyable.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have greatly developed my communication skills on-site and now feel confident in my ability to work as a team and challenge people when necessary.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
The programme is well structured when it comes to college. But when it comes to your rotation calendar apprentices are left to sort placements out their selves. This proved quite challenging especially when you don't work in the office and don't know departments.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
Received a good amount of support both with college and tasks on-site. Everyone is approachable and helpful.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
Leeds college of building professors where all superb. Nice like minded people who were easy to get on with and pushed us to do well.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
My qualification suits my role however I am more electrical than mechanical. I feel college is aimed more for mechanical engineers but I am still learning on-site.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
We get 2 volunteering days a year which allows us to do raise money for charity together. We also did a lumina spark day with other apprentices. But there are no sports teams or social activities in Scotland that I am aware of.
