Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My day to day role involves a lot of tasks; from forecasting, dealing with invoices, internal controls and receivables to the company. I work in the central finance team and so a lot of my role is ensuring the appropriate controls are in place and communicating with projects on multiple topics.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy my programme a lot. It gives the perfect balance between on the job learning, whilst also allowing you to study towards your professional qualification. The support is always there when you need it and I get to have regular catchups with my talent coach to ensure I'm staying on track.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have been studying for my CIMA exams during the apprenticeship, so have learnt lots of new theory during that time. I have also learnt a lot from on the job learning, where I get to put the theory into action. I also have not just developed my accounting skills, but also core skills like communication etc through presentations and other networking events.

How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme is well structured. It gives you multiple rotations around the different business areas, whilst also making time for networking and developing events. The flexibility also allows you to have time to study towards your professional qualification.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

The support is there whenever I need it just through a quick message. There is also regular catch ups to ensure you have all the support you need. The actual teams they put you in for your job are also highly supportive towards you.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

You get study days for classrooms and learning the content, as well as for taking the exam. This is really useful as you don't have to use weekends / evenings to learn the content, giving you a good work-life balance.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

It definitely helps, I get to put into practice the theory I have learnt into my day to day job. The core skills developed through programmes also helps you to build the necessary skills needed in todays world.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes, there is plenty of networking events hosted. Some are necessary, but there is also a wide range of events for early careers professionals if you wanted to attend. There is also activities and networking events at your placement.
