Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

During my day-day work, I carry out a range of testing, mainly sample testing on a range of areas across the audits I work on. Alongside this, I attend college as part of studying for my ACA qualification in a block release manner as well as completing reflective statements as part of the apprenticeship
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy this programme, it has a wide range of technical difficultly which pushes me when needed but also is a very receptive environment, which allows me to ask questions when needed so I am able to progress my knowledge and skills base
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have vastly improved my technical skills due to using computers a lot more in my day to day job. Alongside this, my accounting knowledge has improved tremendously as part of studying for the ACA qualification.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The ACA section of the programme is well structured as you are studying in respect of specific exam dates, the other areas of the programme are a little less structured and have a few more flexible modules which you need to complete
How much support do you receive from your employer?

We receive very good support from our teams whilst completing the work we are assigned during our day to day job. The teams I am apart of are extremely helpful when I ask question to help with the progress of the audits.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

The training provider provide a range of classes as part of the work towards the qualification (online and in person). The training is fast paced and feels like an information overload but revision time is provided which is extremely valuable. Some of the teaching could be improved.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The qualification has given me the basic skills required to help me perform better in my role. This knowledge is added to by our internal training team which provides training more focuses on our role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

I participate in five a side football with my colleagues weekly as well as having some social events with other trainees occasionally

Why?
The organisation is a good training firm which gives individuals room to grow and learn from situations they have faced. The people who you will work with are very friendly and are always happy to help.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to National Audit Office?
Be yourself and try your best whilst having an open mindset when attending college. Be willing to put the effort into when needed whilst studying to gain the appropriate level of knowledge.
