Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
My day-to-day role in my current rotation involves running internal comms for our area in Technology. I also help allocate budgets and ensure teams stay on track. Finally, my job also includes ad hoc requests from the leadership team.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
The programme overall is good, I had no technical background previously but now I am more clued in and have been treated with respect when I do not know things. I enjoy the office, with stunning views and great people it has been an amazing opportunity.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have learnt many skills, from time management to leadership skills. I have also refined my presentation skills, both in creating presentations as well as finding my voice and presenting effectively.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
Overall, it is very well run, with a dedicated apprentice lead and a Team ready to help us in learning and any challenges we face. Sometimes it can challenging to get things moving as the organisation is so large, and the apprentice teams are volunteers on top of their normal job.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I have great support networks in place, such a large company means I have a manager who runs my placement, and a career sponsor who helps with professional and personal growth, both of these are happy to talk and provide support as necessary. Technology is a small team overall so sometimes can be difficult to talk, as others know each other.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
Overall, there is okay support from the University. I have an educational sponsor who is great but can be difficult to reach as she only works Monday - Wednesday. but lecturers are always open to team pings to talk in more detail.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
Some of the topics are a bit outdated and don't use AI like it would be commonplace in the working environment now. But the python and SQL coding will be useful throughout my career.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Yeah, there are many societies for any religious belief, orientation and interests. and quite a few leaving drinks, and events to attend.
