Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I have moved around the account management department, having opportunity to work in different teams. Current day to day role is within continuous improvement - data analysis, projects, thematic reviews, leading changes with data.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy the programme, I have a variety of tasks in my day role and support for all aspects of the apprenticeship through a work based mentor.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Communication skills at a professional level have developed. Confidence has grew massively since working for the company. Skills such as use of excel, data analysis are all new to me.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme is very organised, but also flexible to allow for changes that suit my academic modules. For example when studying finance I could easily step in to work on a finance project.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

Line manager for work related support - 1-1s, training sessions, development opportunities.
Work based mentor for apprenticeship related support - assignment sessions, portfolio time, EPA practice.
We also have study days available to use during busy academic times, opportunity to take part in outreach events at colleges and schools, apprenticeship network across two sites.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Support is available but being away from campus this can be limited to emails/teams. Drop in sessions are hosted after hot weeks for any assignment support/questions.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I have had the opportunity to share my knowledge from modules to teams at work so have been networking and raising my profile

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Many benefits are available at the company, eg monthly massages at no cost to employees. We don't have any sports teams but often run challenges such as most steps in a month etc in teams. We have yearly conferences, last years involved a trip to alton towers

Yes

Why?

The company is really good to work for, majority of people have a long tenure. Support is available from anyone, senior staff members work closely with the front line staff and make sure everyone feels valued. Benefits such as private health care, assistance programmes, holiday buy and sell, care days.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to First Response Finance Limited?

Be yourself - skills can be taught but you must fit in to the culture and have the core values (open and honest, customer driven, team player and winning attitude)
