Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

first year is based on a college year. last two years have on job training, working on aircraft to evolve our hand skills. it involves extreme precision and reading of the AMM to correctly undertake tasks
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

i very heavily enjoy my apprenticeship, and the opportunities my employer provide me will be very advantageous into setting me up for the future

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

i have learned plenty of skills including wire locking and understanding of the AMM. These are life experiences that will set me up for the rest of my career.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

in the first year, a few things have been getting changed around and a little bit of confusion has definitely been experienced. however, since this course is still evolving to include separate rotor and fixed wing groups, its very expected
How much support do you receive from your employer?

we received a lot of support constantly, and are never shy to help us or assist us if its ever required
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

i really couldn't ask for anything else. the training provider always makes sure that were on top of our work, and the amount of enthusiasm that the lecturers provide, help to keep us enthused in the topic. absolute 10/10
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

we need our qualification to get onto On Job Training. however, in the ways of how it will effect our future, it doesn't help all too much. simply obtaining an A license or B license will assist us further
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

the amount of opportunities and the chance to work for us a prestigious company, is definitely the best way to get started in the aerospace industry
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Boeing UK?
speak to other apprentices through LinkedIn on how to apply and any tips you should include. i strongly believe that the use of other apprentices, will provide a massive headstart into applying
