I work in the accounts team preparing year end accounts for a range of clients providing different services.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy the work I do- the team around me are very supportive. The apprenticeship is rewarding but challenging.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have developed my knowledge of accountancy as well as soft skills such as time management, prioritisation, organisation and communication. PM+M provide training for this.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

My training provider first intuition are great- they provide good training for the exam courses and apprenticeship side is also great. I have a specific learning coach who I can go to with queries and knows how I have progressed due to always having my progress reviews with her.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

My employer is supportive in providing sessions with the people team to go through any chances to ICAEW or the procedures. They allow us to attend all relevant courses and revision courses.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

We are able to have our 6 monthly reviews with the apprentice partner during work time. We are also able to complete our ethics training during work time. Work are supportive in us going to college and completing courses. We are able to book the days off before the exam as holiday to study.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The training provider has tutors which have both industry and teaching experiene and when teaching, they relate what we are learning to their time in industry.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

We hve team socials wiich encourage use to get along withour colleagues and build team networks. We also have whole firm days which allow us to spend time with people accross all departments and all see our shared strategy as a firm.
