Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role currently involves coming into college and doing lessons in preparation for exams as well as working towards PEOs in preparation for working in a live hangar.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I thoroughly enjoy this course and find that is helping me think like an engineer and to improve my problem solving and team work abilities. The subjects are very interesting and the practical work is engaging.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I've learned practical skills and developed a basic understanding of mechanical systems. I have also learned and am developing valuable hand skills such as wire-locking and split-pinning.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme is well structured and we are always made aware of what we will be doing over the next few months.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

So far I have found the support to be good and I appreciate the accommodation we are provided with that allows us to focus more on our studies during this intensive first year.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I have found the support to be very good and I am managing well with the course because of it.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The qualifications and skills we are working towards will be immensely useful for us once we are working on live aircraft
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

So far there have been professional networking events. From my understanding, there will be more opportunities for extra-curricular activities during our second and third year.

Show a keen interest in the industry as well as Boeing itself. They are looking for people with a strong will to learn and an interest in working with aircraft.
