Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My day to day consists of either classroom work learning safety precautions, aircraft materials, construction and maintenance. Or completing practical's with aircraft, practicing tasks and maintenance procedures.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I have enjoyed my apprenticeship program toughly and learned lots of new skills as well as an abundance of knowledge which will help me in my career and future work.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt practices in accordance with the Aircraft Maintenance Manual. These include jacking, repairs and hand skills. I have also learnt skills on handling and using tools for repairs

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

My program has been well structured with the first week including introductions of the company and my co workers. I was also able to meet my managers and learn more about my future with the apprenticeship. during the second and third year i will go through on job experience.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive lots of support from my managers and my teachers from my allocated college for my coarse. I am comfortable asking and coming forward to them with any questions i have or queries that come up

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

My training provider is able to provide the correct information towards my qualifications and give past experience to situations or questions we have

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

My training provider helps each one of us perform at our best in our role through providing additional work or helpful tips towards tasks or exams.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

One of the extra-curricular activates to get involved in at work is STEM, this consist of showing the younger generation the benefits of apprenticeships.
