Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role as an apprentice is to learn as much as I can to ensure that I am ready to start working in an unsupervised environment. This involves revising for exams and practicing hand skills to prepare for work on the job, as well as keeping up with admin.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I thoroughly enjoy this program and the opportunities that I have been presented with because of it.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt many different skills while being on this apprenticeship as well as developing existing skills. I have learnt how to work properly and safely in a hangar environment and how to use the tools necessary for the job, I have also greatly developed my ability to revise and learn material in order to pass the exams that are required.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

This program is very well structured in the sense that you will always know what is expected of you and how to progress in the right direction, as well as receiving as much help as you need to achieve those goals.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive a lot of support from my employer. There is always somebody that I can talk to if I need help, have any concerns or am unsure about some.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I receive as much help as is necessary to complete the tasks I have been set.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Because it is a very good environment to be in and it is also an amazing career opportunity with massive potential for progression.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Boeing UK?

Just be yourself, make it clear why you are applying and don't try to just say what you think they want to hear. They are interested in what kind of person you are and whether or not you will be a good fit for the industry and the company not necessarily your prior experience as they will provide that for you.
