Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I am currently at ICAT and on a daily basis I am undertaking the learning and completing the exams to achieve my city and guilds and A-license qualifications.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I do really enjoy the apprenticeship, I am glad that we are spending time learning the basics before going onto on the job training (OJT).

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I've enhanced my hands on/practical skills through practicing tasks like an insert repair to learn riveting and I have learnt a lot of theory in regard to the world of aviation.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

I would say it has a good structure are we do similar hours as we will on OJT and the learning plan is well organized. The simpler modules are taught first to build foundations for the rest, but it is also split up with practical tasks so we can put theory into practice in a sheltered environment.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Our lecturers are very supportive and will always encourage and assist when they can. When doing practical tasks they are present to oversee and will correct you but in a way to help you making the same mistakes in the future.
