Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Maintenance of the simulator equipment and helping crews if something goes wrong or if they have questions.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

The job is fun to do and the people you work with are always accommodating if you need help or someone to talk to.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Specialist tool skills such as torque wrenches, networking in computers that run the simulator such as host computer, avionics computers and motion and controls computers

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

Work side has been fine however the college side has had some teething issues with lessons not being covered or content not being taught that we need to know
How much support do you receive from your employer?

The employer will support whatever you need and will be accommodating for any concerns raised
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

The college has had issues with classes not being covered in our second year, this feedback has been given to the college however the work to correct the issue has been too little too late.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The qualification is a mechanical and electrical maintenance and operations which coinside with what we do at work and helps with understanding further how the equipment works.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Every 6 months there is a aviation karting competition that I take part in with work and is always good fun, occasionally during the summer and towards Christmas there is a work social night out that is always a good laugh too

Boeing have places you can move onto after the apprentice if you wish and different roles across the UK in commercial and defence
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Boeing UK?
Be committed to the job you are applying for and understand what you are being asked to do, get involved with things and if you don't understand something that's gone wrong you're encuraged to tag along and get involved to fix the issue.
