Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I am managing a change project that includes UKI and Europe regions in its scope. My daily tasks involve daily project management activities, as well as writing and publishing comms, developing training plans, analysing account resources and handling general user queries.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
Regarding the training provider (not employer), I appreciated my coach's support and guidance throughout the programme. I found the monthly workshops engaging, however I do think the structure of the programme (set by the training provider) could be tweaked better prepare for the EPA. Preparing for the EPA was stressful, mainly because the structure of the learning didn't totally match the EPA. I had to redo a lot of work, which took away from my day job.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have learnt many new skills and frameworks that I can use as a business analyst. Whilst I have been practicing many of these skills for years, it has been beneficial to understand and validate that knowledge with real theories and frameworks to strengthen my practice.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
The programme was mainly well-structured. However, there were inconsistencies with the EPA, particularly around the KSBs and where/how they should've been referenced in the project proposal and portfolio. I did however appreciate that all workshop dates were provided up-front at the start of the fellowship.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
My manager supported me by providing protected learning time and suggesting projects for me to implement my skills. It is important that understand the content of the programme before signing up, however, as many of my peers dropped out from the course due to lack of relevance to their day jobs.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
Lots of support - there were opportunities for 1:1 coaching, additional community sessions, group sessions, on-demand learning, and a blog full of resources and content.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I have the theories, frameworks, and confidence to implement change at my workplace.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Yes - particularly around ERGs and STEM activities.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend DXC to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Flexible working and training opportunities are great for personal and career development. I felt very well supported by my manager whilst taking the fellowship.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to DXC?
Make sure to set expectations with your manager and secure protected time for your leaning. It is so important that your learning time is shielded and they will support you if you make this known.
