Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Handling and paying customer benefits after calculating them, providing customer service to pensioner's and other members and updating their personal information on systems.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
9/10

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learnt a lot more skills, many to do with the niche of pensions such as calculating benefits but also a lot of more general skills like quicker maths, better speaking and understanding with clients

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
It is very well structured as you are placed in a team with more teams around you in an even bigger hub between offices. You are taught everything by many other helpful employees in these teams and are allocated a lot of work which you have been taught to do
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive a lot of support from my employer, it is all optional but it is highly encouraged when anything happens and always reminded if you may need it
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
I receive support from them and they are flexible but they do set too much work sometimes with too short deadlines
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
I feel like the training provider mainly is a recap of what we do in our actual job. It is important to recap to remember sometimes but most of it is just writing from experience we already have gained rather than anything new
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There are lots such as sporting charity events in the summer, darts and pool tournaments, payday events, charity bake sales and raffles, professional networking events through the company when important information is needed to be shared - and even more.

Yes
Why?
It is a friendly and fun, yet professional working environment. It helps you learn new skills and start a career alongside friendly like-minded people and there is lots of chances for development. As well as there being a lot of rewards and entertainment alongside the job.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Barnett Waddingham LLP?
To be yourself, they aren't looking for the complete and perfect employee, they want to train people and just have people who are themselves
