Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I am training to be an RME technician at Amazon. This involves shadowing engineers and learning/studying at MTC based in Coventry on a block release.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I have loved this programme so far! I have made many mates with the apprentices and learned so much in a short amount of time in the programme yet there is still so much more to learn. I am looking forward to the future of the apprenticeship but also when I am a qualified technician.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learnt many skills throughout my first year into this apprenticeship ranging from many hand tool skills to knowledge in engineering.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
I believe its well a structured programme. For certain subjects they were slightly rushed but still gave us sufficient time to complete our assessments. Amazon gave us a team building exercise in the first month where we spent a week away in Wales with the apprentices where we did many activities which I found very fun so I feel that was well-timed. They gave us the opportunity to come back on a weekend when we were studying which was great and a Christmas break from studying which I loved as well allowing us to recharge over summer and come back and finish our last two months of assessments at the training provider.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
You get a lot of support from managers which if you have a problem and reach out to them they will sort the problem as soon as possible but also they reply very quickly.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
If you are struggling or need support with a subject they are more than happy to support you.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
Very applicable to the job role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There was a charity football game to get involved with at the training provider which was great fun having a day out with the apprentices. There are also many competitions like in robotics that Amazon support you in to excel and reach your upmost potential.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Amazon to a friend?
Yes
Why?
The skies the limit in Amazon and there is so much room to climb the ladder gaining full support from your peers.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Amazon?
Think about your past experiences depending on the job role and apply it to the job you're applying for, whether that you be captain of your football, working on motors growing up or building electric circuit boards in school.
