Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I'm a data analyst and I work on a lease-visualisation platform for clients. My day to day involves creating the apps shared on our platform, as well as any ad-hoc developments that I can get involved with.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
The programme is really challenging, more so than I expected in terms of technical skills required for my degree, which has pros/cons. I feel like I'm really learning a lot and incredibly thankful for Savills giving me the opportunity to progress my career in data, however, time management has proved difficult, particularly during deadline season.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I've learnt technical skills specifically relating to data preparation (alteryx), data visualisation (tableau), and data system management (smartsheet). I've been working hard on my softer skills too, with presentations and stakeholder management. My degree has also taught my Python, which I have used to bring in new developments across the team.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
It's good, I spend one day a week in person at uni, which I find much better than online learning, so in that sense, it is very good. As Savills offers lots of different apprenticeship programmes, they are very supportive with my development. As I've grown into my role, I'm now more confident bringing my learnings from uni into the workplace and working on offering a wider product offerings. I do feel disappointed with how university manage certain meetings, and particularly a lack of communication around logging OTJ hours, particularly when there is such a push around this each time I have my tripartite review,
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
Plenty, my manager is very happy with my development, and I feel no pressure/guilt for going on my study day, even when work is very busy. There are many support networks I can use if things get too difficult, and general support for higher level of data management/analytics in the team, so generally people are more than happy to support me with my studies.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
A full day of university lectures and labs once a week means that I am doing sufficient learning to pass my coursework's to eventually get my MSc
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
Significantly! Having a deeper understanding of how to conduct thorough analysis opens up lots more doors for me to run projects on. Particularly I have connected with our Data & Insights team and research teams to conduct analysis, meaning I am now able to support the wider business, which I wouldn't have been able to do without the apprenticeship programme
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yeah, I play football weekly with a group of graduates/apprentices, and there is a great culture here, meaning I can go out and socialise regularly after days in the office.
