Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
It involves me working in a kitchen as a chef. From the morning we prepare for the day and as the day goes and people order we prepare the food and go through the day cooking food.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
2/5
I would say it was fine for what it was but the place does not get you involved much in terms of working as a chef but it does teach you how to work in a busy environment.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have learned a few things mainly around the legislations which gave me better understanding of how to work in a kitchen environment and being clean

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
2/5
Could be better in terms of English and maths. As a person who doesn't remember much from school days I had to quickly adapt to other learning beside the apprenticeship.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I get really good support through the employer. Always when I had a question I would get a good example of what I should do and what resources I can use.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
Also very good I'd say whenever I need such support like if I don't understand something, I am always told about it and if I'm uncertain with something there is always extra help with my learning.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
1/5
I don't think it does because at the end of the day, it will come down to the work and it makes more sense when you work at work and that's the way you learn
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
1/5
No there isn't

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Greene King to a friend?
No
Why?
As a place for learning how to be a chef doesn't really give you bit opportunities to do more. It's very standard work that anyone can do
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Greene King?
I would recommend doing something more that gets you more involved into the work that you are doing
