Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Servicing and repairing gas boilers and heating systems in customers homes, as well as attending college on week release.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

i enjoy the balance of college and work. The program is laid out well and we learn a lot of new things and know what is expected of us at every stage. There's a lot of practical work in college

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Learned about gas and repairing different components of heating systems such as radiators and pipework. Learned different building skills in college and used power tools etc to safely work in customers homes
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

Everything we are expected to do is laid out at the start and we have a timetable of when we will be in college and what we will be covering during each week. The evidence folder we have to keep is checked regularly and we have progress meetings
How much support do you receive from your employer?

there are a lot of resources available to support us both through the apprenticeship and while working, such as support for mental and physical health. Our managers both in college and at work check in on our progress regularly
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

We have all the evidence we are required to collect explained to us clearly at the start of the course and the qualifications we are working towards. We get practice papers and progress checks
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

ACS qualification gives us the ability to work on different types of gas appliances and there are oppertunities to gain other qualifications after the course
