Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
1/5
Corporate sales, forming sales strategy for an industry sector based on customer engagement and what they value
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
1/5
I haven't really. The programme has been padded with lots of non-essential learning points. It was advertised as a way of understanding how to use programmes such as Excel and Power BI, but most of the time spoke about how to present data and engage with colleagues to make wide-scale changes within our organisation.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
1/5
I have learned how to use Power BI

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
2/5
It was fine. There were issues with the platform which changed and I lost my work on their webpage. Also I explicitly mentioned I couldn't make the launch of the apprenticeship and missed all the introductions to their platform etc. No effort was made with me to catch-me-up either and it took me a while to grasp what I needed to do
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I can't fault my employer at all. There was plenty of time afforded to me to complete the apprenticeship.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
1/5
It's been a struggle. We changed coaches near the beginning of the programme. The person they have provided is lovely but can take a while to respond. Also marking my work seems to take forever as there is an issue reviewing my work which hasn't been resolved. Also my coach has been absent which hasn't helped. I'm yet to complete my course even though I have (to my mind) completed all the projects and am waiting for my work to be reviewed.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
There have been some useful elements that I will take away from the programme, especially Power BI
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes, although I work from home mostly so I am limited in what I can partake in.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend RS Group to a friend?
Yes
Why?
RS is a great company to work for and has provided me with plenty of opportunities to develop. Certainly you need to have broad shoulders at times, but I would expect this from any sales job.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to RS Group?
To work for RS you need to be able to have a deep understanding of what value represents to the client. We're not an organisation who sells on cost. Also you need to embrace change as RS is constantly evolving.
