Rural Surveying Summer Scheme Review

It was a mix of office based work and being out on estates meeting with clients. The work was very varied and Savills made sure that I got a good breadth of experience across the office. I was given several projects to work on. I did mapping, rent reviews, comparable evidence selection and much more

I was given a really good amount of responsibility. I felt as if the work I was given was meaningful but not too high of a consequence that it was overwhelming. Over the month, I was given more responsibility, and began dealing more directly with tenants and suppliers which was a good progression

I learnt lots of new skills, as there were a few pieces of software that were new to me. I also developed my written skills by writing letters and reports, and my excel skills by composing budgets and doing financial forecasting

I had lots of support and guidance both from people in the office and from the graduate recruitment team at head office. Everyone was willing to help and chat to me about what they did and were keen to answer any questions I had and teach me new skills

The culture at Savills encourages you to be proactive and rewards you for being entrepreneurial and driven which I really enjoyed. The office is fast paced but this did not stop people from being very friendly and individual. The atmosphere was welcoming and people are constantly asking each other for help and communicating. Although people work individually there is a lot of teamwork in the office as everyone has different areas of knowledge

I really enjoyed my placement. I am very satisfied with the work that I was given, I loved the culture of the company and think that the opportunities and training that Savills offer graduates are really good
