Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I help out directors with tasks such as: sending emails, completing reports, engaging with clients, completing a monthly deals presentation with other members of the team to be presented in the monthly team meeting.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I think the apprenticeship programme is an amazing programme that enables people to both get a degree alongside working and therefore gaining a first hand experience in the world. It is a brilliant scheme enabling young people to meet so many influential people in the industry.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have developed new skills including math based skills where I am devaluing or valuing a properties. Similarly, I have developed my English skills through writing emails and creating reports therefore having to write in a formal tone. I have also learnt what needs to be taken into consideration when valuing different properties.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
The programme is well organised with the apprenticeship element taking place on one day where there is designated time where the learning can take place. This separates the study (off the job learning) and then the on the job learning which is taken place within the office.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
Savills provides a lot of support to the apprentices; they are always available to have a chat about any worries and concerns you may have both within the workplace as well as on your course. At the beginning of an apprenticeship it can be daunting for an apprentice who has never had a job before therefore meaning there is lots of new learning. At this point in a career it is important to feel supported and that people have someone to talk to away from your own team which is why Savills is so amazing.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
The university course that I am completing is with UCEM (University of Estate Management); they are extremely supportive, my AOO is always fast to answer emails with any concerns I may have and she is always available to call to answer questions I may have. They also provide feedback on assignments as well as providing one on one sessions which can be booked in when needed.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I think the qualification is extremally useful as it gives us as apprentices an understanding into the industry as a whole as we have come into this with no previous experience and knowledge. The degree also gives me something else to focus on and work towards alongside working within the job. It helps me perform better as I am able to understand what everyone means and can ask better questions which can help progress my career.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes, there are lots of networking events which people can attend both internal and externally; similarly, Savills do have a variety of sports teams that people can get involved in however I haven't as of yet.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Savills to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Savills provides an extremely welcoming environment where everyone can be made to feel confident
Savills offer a warm and welcoming environment to anyone that is new. They encourage everyone to reach their full potential and people will work extremely hard to ensure that is achieved.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Savills?
I would advise people to do work experience to make sure that they are sure they want to go into the corporate working world. I would also advise people to be themself in the interview as it will give the team a good insight into the type of person you are and weather you would fit into the team and the environment.
