Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My job role varies from day to day, mainly involving security checks for the business and helping colleagues with daily support tickets. No day is the exact same making it enjoyable and different.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

This is my first job where I genuinely like to come to work. This is because of a few things, my interest in IT and the welcoming environment I work in. My colleagues make it a great place to work as well as enjoyable.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

During my apprenticeship I have learnt lots of different skills. I started Bagnalls thinking I knew a lot about computing. I quickly realised I had a lot to learn and I'm currently really enjoying my apprenticeship. Some skills I've learnt are

Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

My programme is very well organised, I get a whole day a week to catch up on any coursework and log any learning hours I have completed in the week. This makes it easy for me to ensure I get any work completed on time.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My employer provides lots of support, offering time out to catch up on coursework, offering to sit down and help me through any topics I'm unsure on. This is really beneficial to me as I know if I'm stuck on anything they are always offering support.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I meet up with my tutor about once a month. I receive 1-2-1 sessions to go through various topics that haven't been covered. I also have the ability to book in more sessions if I still feel uncomfortable with anything.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I think not everything I've learnt from my training provider has been useful to my role at Bagnalls, however I do think it's good to have a wide knowledge of all topics. There has been some things like IP Addressing that they've tough me which has been useful within the workplace.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes, Bagnalls offer extra activities, I've attended the odd social activity and professional networking events. These both have been a great experience and I really enjoyed attending them. This was something that was new to me as an apprentice as at my previous workplace these weren't offered.

Why?
Bagnalls is still a family run business and you can truly see that with the way people are treated and cared about, you know you aren't just another number in a database. Since working for Bagnalls many opportunities have opened up to me and I'm really grateful. I would have no issues recommending Bagnalls to friends and family.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Bagnalls?
I would recommend being open and honest and just being yourself. Bagnalls are willing to give anyone a try and getting one poor qualification from school isn't the end of the world.
